The Founder
Zenryo’s founder has spent four decades in serious study of Japan — formal language and cultural training at the Showa Institute in Boston, a LEX America residency with a Japanese family in Kawagoe, the study of ukiyo-e and cha no yu at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and nihon teien at the Morikami Museum and Gardens in Delray Beach, Florida. He also holds the rank of sandan in Uechi-ryu karate-do and owned a dojo for 15 years.
That study never remained in the classroom. It shaped the relationships Zenryo builds — grounded in genuine understanding of the culture, and respect for the people who carry it forward.
